The Skype version of Call On CRM is going great! Skype is a pretty good platform. A hosted phone system from a Broadsoft based carrier is much better in terms of features and services, but Skype works for the individual or Sole Proprieter. Skype IS NOT a professional business phone system however. You couldn't run your business with it unless you only have 1 or 2 employees. It doesn't support transfering calls, a call queue for call centers, 4 digit extension dialing and a whole host of other nice features like a Braodsoft based phone, but Skype does cover the basics.
Skype provides:
A phone number (Skype-In)
A way to call phones (Skype-Out)
SMS Messaging (Stanard rates apply)
Voicemail, included with a Skype-In number.
Caller-ID, Chat and Conferencing functionality.
Thats really about it as far as features go, This can fit the bill for someone to use while travelling or just a single user wanting a phone number they can take with them anywhere and forward calls to another phone when they are away. One nice feature of Skype is there is no monthly bill. You do have to pay $60 a year for a phone number, but after that you only pay for what you use.
If you haven't signed up with Skype yet, take advantage of this promotion: 33% off 3 or 12 month calling subscriptions from Skype until 1st June.
The Call On CRM for Skype application will work the same way as our existing product, yet it works with a Skype based phone in this version. This will allow people to be able to try out and use Call On CRM without having to have a Broadsoft based phone system.
